Dear Parents/Guardians:

The Comparative Cognition Lab at UC-San Diego is excited to be offering fun and interactive online studies for children between the ages of 3- and 9-years-old. These studies are all child friendly and explore various topics related to children's understanding of the social world. To be more specific, current studies include how children react to those who defy gender norms, children's preferences for prestigious vs. coercive individuals, how children reward those who work hard vs. those who are popular, children's understanding of property rights, and how children might engage with economic games in similar ways to adults. These studies are all conducted over Zoom, live with an experimenter, and require only 10 minutes to complete. As a reward for participating in these studies, all children receive a coloring page and a child scientist certificate.

We would be so grateful to anyone who signs up with our lab and participates in our studies. Without participation from parents like you, our research simply would not be possible. We hope to hear from you soon.

Sincerely,
Dr. Federico Rossano
Director, Comparative Cognition Lab

At UC-San Diego, there are four different labs (including ours) that are all interested in child development. These labs are all currently running studies for children over Zoom. Are you comfortable with us adding your contact information to a larger database so that the other child development labs can also contact you?
