Study: Improving contouring training for Radiation Oncology residents via implementation of novel curricular elements using an interactive online contouring platform

Dear Participant,

James D. Murphy, MD, MS who is an Associate Professor of Radiation Oncology at UCSD, is conducting a research study to find out more about strategies for contouring education amongst radiation oncologists.

If you agree to be in this study, the following will happen to you:
• You will be asked to test one or more online educational tools designed to assist with learning contouring for either head and neck cancer, gynecologic cancer, or gastrointestinal cancer. We estimate that the total time commitment for using these tools will be less than 3 hours over the course of a 3 month rotation.
• You may be asked to contour a case before and after your clinical rotation using the study interventions.

Research records will be kept confidential to the extent allowed by law. The contours you submit and feedback that you receive will be anonymized and will not be associated with your personal information when they are analyzed by the study investigators.

Participation in research is entirely voluntary. You may refuse to participate or withdraw at any time without penalty or loss of benefits to which you are entitled.
