LIFESHARING'S ROSE PARADE HONOREE APPLICATION
We have received many inquiries from donor families who would like to see their loved one honored on the Donate Life Rose Parade Float. There are hundreds of organ and tissue donors who are deserving of this honor, and it is difficult to choose a single honoree each year.
This application was created to give Lifesharing donor families the opportunity to tell us more about their loved ones. All information will be forwarded to our Rose Parade Honoree selection committee for consideration.
Note: Filling out this application does
not guarantee your loved one will be selected as our Rose Parade Honoree.
Due to sponsorship rules, Lifesharing can choose only
one donor each year. We expect to receive many applications.
PROGRAM ELIGIBILITY RULES
- Only Lifesharing organ and tissue donors will be considered for selection as Lifesharing's Rose Parade Honoree.
- The donor's organ or tissue donation must have occured at least two years ago. (In order to give our families time to grieve, we will not consider applications from families whose loved one passed away less than two years ago.)
- Applications must be filled out by the donor’s legal next of kin. (Typically, this is the person who authorized donation and signed the paperwork.)
- For logistical reasons, participation is limited to Lifesharing donor families who live in San Diego County, Imperial County or Tijuana, Mexico.
MAKING SURE THIS EVENT IS RIGHT FOR YOU
This event requires a huge time commitment from the family of Lifesharing's Rose Parade Honoree. It also requires travel to the Los Angeles area for several mandatory events from October to early January. (Lifesharing will provide limited assistance with lodging costs.) Families are also asked to give multiple media interviews during this time to help us educate the public about organ and tissue donation.
For a preliminary list of events, please refer to the "Expectations and Requirements" in the next page.
